My name is Alix. I’m a chef who’s passionate about using premium ingredients (think local, organic, and seasonal) and craft cannabis. Both have been pillars in my business and personal progress. That’s why I want to share my story.

My love for making food goes way back. As a child, I began baking with my grandmother. Watching the calming motions of her rolling out the dough and smelling the inviting aroma of freshly baked cookies was irresistible. Come Thanksgiving, offering a helping hand was always the highlight of my holiday season.

Fast-forward to my teen years. After a night out, I’d eagerly make my way to the kitchen and exercise my creativity. I discovered a lot during this time. Most importantly, my need to cook!

Post high school, I followed my heart and enrolled in the Institute of Culinary Education. This was an awesome experience where I could exercise my purpose and sharpen my skill set. Side note to others taking this route: they don’t actually teach you how to infuse. That’s an art I learned on my own. Sadly, a lot of weed was harmed and/or disposed of in the process. Hey, it's all part of the learning process.

Experience

I graduated culinary school in 2014, ready to pave my career. I split my time be-tween working as a chef in wonderful New York City restaurants and developing my Holistic Chef brand.One time, I even worked with a head chef to make a private dinner for Morgan Freeman. Pretty cool name drop, right?

Still, I knew I belonged in a private kitchen that brings cannabis to a wide group of people. I jump-started this path by hosting cannabis-infused dinners. The goal was to help normalize the plant and break the tired, false stigmas around it.

With time, and a whole lot of effort, my side hustle evolved into a business. As for the future, my dream is to work alongside local extractors and cultivators to do hash rosin paired with fine dining-style dinners.

Easily the best part of my job is helping people heal with the medicinal use of cannabis. Positively impacting my client’s lives, whether it’s physical pain or anxiety, makes me excited to wake up each morning. It brings tremendous meaning to my life. My goal is to spread the highest quality edibles, a service that pretty much didn’t exist before.

I began this journey following my heart. This motivation is reflected in the Holistic Chef brand’s spirit of inclusivity, generosity, and unconditional compassion.
